The Adventures of the Investigator + Madam VEGA is a 20 part video performance series conducted during a four month period of solitary travel in the Arctic Circle during the winter, signified by an extended period of darkness when the sun disappears below the horizon. The work was prompted by daily hikes amongst remote landscapes that evolved into impromptu attempts at experiencing the landscape from the bodies of characters the Investigator and Madam VEGA. The characters perform different rituals, test physical boundaries, and carry out experiments based on specialized modes of understanding that fluctuate between sense experience and logical reasoning. The videos present a catalogue of their adventures on an icy other earth like planet, which becomes a testing ground for futile and at times humorously non-sensical activities.
